Pig Advocates League, Inc. is a nonprofit corporation and is organized exclusively for charitable and educational purposes, including, for such purposes, the making of distributions to organizations that qualify as exempt organizations under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, or the corresponding section of any future federal tax code.

Our mission is to protect pigs of ALL sizes, big and small through education, advocacy, and hopefully, legislatively. One of our goals includes working with pig rescues and sanctuaries in each state and tackle the overall perception of pigs and to try and get potbellied/mini pigs to be seen as companion pets versus livestock paving the way to legislative changes including regulations for pig breeders so there is a standard that must be followed. Currently, there are no regulations with regards to breeding; nor the care these wonderful pigs need afterwards. Pigs are often misunderstood and because of that, people think pigs are dirty disgusting animals, not the great pets we see. Because of that, pigs aren't treated the same as a cat or dog and there aren't laws to protect them like there is for traditional pets. With standards come rules, and we will fight for those rules to be inclusive of protecting these pigs in the long run.
We plan to partner with rescues/sanctuaries to address the unwanted/homeless pet pig problem that has been plaguing the pig community for a number of years. In partnering, we hope to shed much needed light on these rescues using our SOS (Spotlight on sanctuaries) format that will be implemented in showcasing pig rescue's who work so hard day after today, to care for these unloved pigs and often times becoming permanent homes for the "unlovable" porcine companions that were otherwise discarded.
We plan to fundraise for rescues/sanctuaries needing funding for medical care for pigs they've agreed to accept into their organization. With the sheer number of unwanted pigs, it is next to impossible to find homes for all these pigs and many come to rescues intact, which is something that immediately needs to be addressed. With funding in place, we will be able to provide those funds to these rescues to have these pigs spayed/neutered potentially prolonging their lives based on the tumor risk for intact pigs.
Our education will begin with our public website and will continue through each of our board members that provide that 1:1 attention so many in our community need. We will always be available, that is the purpose for the website, so accurate and credible information will always be within reach for anyone wishing to learn more about pigs, but we are also available by email, direct message, private message and by phone for those who need immediate assistance. We have bigger plans to hold educational seminars across the country and Canada in the future. These seminars will focus on important aspects of pig care with a special focus on appropriate care versus inappropriate care/neglect. We plan to focus most of our energy in the protection of pigs while also supporting cruelty free living and promoting "the connection". Please join us in our journey to help ALL pigs.
We believe ALL pigs deserve to be treated equally and will fight for them all, big or small.
